Its been 38 days now. She is very active already. She can recognise her mother. This makes me jealous. After all I am her father. My family is in my in-laws house. They are doing really good. I had 2 days off from work on the occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi. Obviously I spent two days with her. On sunday evening I went to Prakash Hebbar's house. But my mind always swirls around my daughter's face expressions.
I know how to make her cry; but don't know how to make her stop. If I show her some red colored object she immediatly recognises it. She tries to catch it. This is where the fun is. I pull it out from her hand and she cries. This is too early.
She always cries between 1:00 to 3:00 am. This is a routine. I know for sure that she will be very demanding when she grows up. However, its too early to worry/ be happy about.

July 19th early morning at 4:50 am. My pregnent wife developed some complication. Her water from womb broke open. So we had to immediately take her to the hospital for the delivery!! We had read a lot of materials about pregnancy and we knew exactly what this meant. She would deliver today!!!!!! This was the beginning of the end of 9 months waiting for us and for my wife final rounds of pain. My in-laws were eager too. My parents were in my house at BTM layout.

By 5:10 am we reached the hospital and docs were ready. This is diwakar's speciality hospital in J.P.Nagar 2nd Phase in Bangalore. I liked this hospital for its cleanliness. Its very cozy and co-ordial. I liked the docs here; very responsible and good.

We were given room number 205. Incidentally, this is the same as my house number in BTM layout. Rameshanna and Sudha-athige had also come in time. Pappa, Amma, Athe and Mava were also present. Sundar also was there. So she developed deep pain around 7:50 and she was taken to the operation theater. So we were all waiting for the new born. Its in a way good in India that there is no predetermination of gender option. So we had kept fingers crossed. I was expecting a baby girl and Jayashree expecting a healthy baby. At 8:32 am Jayashree delivered Likhita. A healthy baby weighing 3.2 kgs. Wow!!! Wait is over. I didn't know that our world would change so soon. She came out vey calm. She had lot of hairs and she was carrot pink colored. She had opened the eyes while she came out itself. Now after the first bath she was looking everything possible. My father-in-law had been to get some medicines. He was not in place when she was handed over to us.
At first sight itself I felt something unusual. Some sort of bonding or belongingness was already knitted. She is our beloved daughter. I wanted to see Jayashree. After all we had much stronger bonding than with the daughter. I handed over Likhita to my mother. All this after a small photo session. I wanted to hug my wife but she was not in sucha position. I wanted to celebrate the new arrial with my wife. But I am turned down.

My/our daughter is named:
Likhita --- Permanently written
Laasya --- Dance posture
Lipi --- God's script
Lavanya --- Goddess Annapoorna
Samskruti --- Cultured
We have named her on 12th October, '06.

More on her later.
